Community litter pick in Swanswell Park - Asylum Seekers want to help clean up our city. Coventry Asylum and Refugee Action Group (CARAG) invite members of the community to join them in a litter pick at Swanswell Park Coventry. Date: 23rd May 2018 Time: 2pm-3pm Swanswell Park is the only wildlife reservation for birds such as swans, pigeons and other birds within the local community- located within 400-600metres from the town centre. Its location means the Park is used by college and university students, patients at the local walk-in centre, families coming to the play park and other members of the general public. Coventry is one of the UK’s litter hotspots and according to new figures, makes it the fifth worst city in Britain for litter. Conrad, a member of CARAG group said: "We hear people blaming Asylum Seekers and homeless people for dropping litter. But this is our community too. We want to make this, as a way of giving something back." People claiming Asylum are not able to work but still want to contribute and make a difference to the community they live.
